Every day your body is exposed to countless amounts of toxins and chemicals in the air you breathe, water you drink, food you eat, even cosmetics and cleaning products you use. Even if you strive to lead a healthy lifestyle, in today's world these toxins and chemicals still find their way into your body. These chemicals and heavy metals create a situation of chronic toxic overload. As these toxins build up, they can cause enzyme dysfunction and nutritional deficiencies, create hormonal imbalances, damage brain chemistry, and can even lead to cancer and other debilitating chronic illnesses. One of the best ways to eliminate these stored toxins and chemicals is through sweating. Along with detoxification, some of the health benefits that users can experience with regular infrared sauna use include pain relief, increased circulation, skin rejuvenation, weight loss, lowered blood pressure, and much more.

INFRARED SAUNA FAQ
Q. What is the difference between an infrared sauna and a traditional sauna?
A. In sweat content analysis, it has been determined that infrared sauna use produces sweat containing 80% water and 20% toxins while conventional sauna use produces sweat containing 97% water and only 3% toxins. Conventional hot rock/steam heat saunas heat the air with steam, which can often be unbearably hot and will cause you to only sweat at the surface of the tissue. Steam also makes the air difficult to breathe. An infrared sauna uses soothing dry infrared heat that is well ventilated and extremely comfortable and relaxing.
Q. What is the difference between infrared therapy and red light therapy?
A. The wavelength infrared puts out is longer than the wavelength of red light, this allows infrared to penetrate more deeply into the body. The deeper penetrating light causes the body to sweat and detoxify itself. Read more about the differences here.
Q. How hot does the sauna get?
A. Temperature can be set anywhere between 100-160 degrees. If you are a beginner, you’ll want to start around 110. This way you'll give yourself a chance to get used to the heat. Our infrared sauna operates at a maximum of 160 degrees as opposed to a traditional sauna which can be as hot as 190 degrees or more. Even though the temperature is so much cooler (and more comfortable) you will probably sweat more than you ever have before. For those who want to get a good sweat but can't tolerate the high temps of conventional saunas, infrared saunas might be the answer.
Q. Can I use the sauna before I get my spray tan?
A. No. When you get a spray tan you want your skin to be completely clean free of perspiration, excessive moisture, etc. The sauna will cause you to sweat and not allow the spray tan solution to properly adhere to your skin.
Q. How often should I use an infrared sauna?
A. This is up to your personal preference. Two to three times per week is usually suggested. 3 or more times a week if you are looking for a serious detoxification or weight loss.
Q. What should i wear in the sauna?
A. We recommend a wearing a bathing suit, towel, or something minimal. We provide towels that you must sit on during your session. You may bring a robe if you would like.
Q. Do you provide showers?
A. No, we do not.
Q. How old do I have to be to use the infrared sauna?
A. Children under the age of 18 may use the sauna accompanied by an adult. Sessions should not exceed 20 minutes. Children’s metabolisms are much faster than adults, so take precaution not to overheat.
Q. Can I use the sauna if I am pregnant?
A. No. Pregnant women should NOT use an infrared sauna in any way, shape or form for any period of time. The increased temperatures can increase the risks for birth defects or fetal damage.
Q. Do I need to make an appointment to use the infrared sauna?
A. We highly suggest making an appointment. This way we can have your sauna heated up for you, due to the fact that it takes 20 minutes to reach appropriate temperature. As well as make sure the sauna won't be in use by another client. We do take walk-ins. If you cannot make your appointment please give us at least a 1 hour notice, preferably 12 hours if possible, so we can schedule someone else. Thank you.
Q. Why am I required to put a credit card on file when scheduling an infrared sauna appointment?
A. We require clients to put a credit card on file when scheduling an infrared sauna appointment. It costs us money to heat and run the sauna, so if you don't show up it's not fair to us or clients who would have loved your appointment spot but couldn’t take it because you reserved that time. We understand that stuff comes up, but we please ask that you give us at least twelve hours notice before you cancel your appointment. We do not have access to your information and do not charge your card for the service. However, if you do not cancel your appointment you will be subject to a 50% charge of the full service amount.
Q. Is a waiver required and where can I review it?
A. Yes, a waiver is required. You can view it here. You may print it out and bring it with you, or fill it out when you arrive for your appointment.
BENEFITS OF INFRARED SAUNAS
Sweating toxins from your body is a great way to avoid disease, prevent illness, and generally improve your overall feeling of health and vitality. Since infrared saunas heat your body from the core, they allow you to sweat out up to 7 times more toxins than traditional saunas without feeling unbearably hot. The medical journal “Townsend Magazine” discussed the powerful impact that infrared saunas had on the crews of firefighters which worked in toxic filled areas for days and weeks after 9/11.
If you're looking to lose weight, infrared saunas can help. Studies have shown that infrared saunas can burn 600-900 calories in just one session!
Enhanced Immune System
Each infrared sauna session causes a brief, beneficial increase in body temperature, which improves immune health by boosting production of infection-fighting white blood cells and killer T-cells. Infrared saunas have also been shown to improve chronic fatigue symptoms, treat lyme disease, fibromyalgia relief, and more.
A study published in The Journal of Cosmetic and Laser Therapy showed significant improvements in skin appearance after just 12 weeks of sauna skin therapy using near-infrared technology. Participants experienced a reduction in wrinkles and crow’s feet, as well as improved overall skin tone, including softness, smoothness, elasticity, clarity and firmness. Infrared saunas also help acne, eczema, and psoriasis. Sweating also assists removing toxins that accumulate deep beneath your pores such as makeup, dirt, lotions, oils, and conditioners.
Relaxation and Stress Relief
Our saunas are guaranteed to help you relax in comfort with an invigorating deep tissue sweat that will have you feeling mesmerized with each sauna session. Relaxation and stress relief is more important to your health than most people realize. The more stressed you are, the more cortisol your body will produce. Cortisol is a “fight or flight” hormone made in the adrenal glands that raises heart rate, blood pressure, and encourages the deposit of any excess calories into the midsection. Scientific evidence shows that far infrared therapy helps the body maintain healthy levels of cortisol.
One of the most popular reasons people turn to infrared saunas is for pain relief. A recent study published in Internal Medicine, showed that patients with chronic pain saw their pain levels drop by nearly 70% after their first session of infrared sauna therapy. Many doctors recommend infrared to athletes for sports injury relief. Other recent health and medical studies name infrared heat as a successful treatment for arthritis, fibromyalgia, rheumatism, sprains, neuralgia, bursitis, muscle spasms, joint stiffness and many other muscular-skeletal ailments. Stiffness, aches, headaches and soreness are reduced or eliminated.
Infrared saunas have been clinically shown to provide one of the best, natural ways to lower blood pressure. During a session, your heart works harder to cool your body down, promoting healthy blood flow.
Infrared saunas boost overall circulation by bringing nutrients, hormones, oxygen and other substances to all body tissues.
